Phillip Routley is a talented musician with a passion for the violin that began at the age of 5. He has been an integral part of the Macquarie Towns Symphony Orchestra (MTSO) since joining in 2008 and was appointed president the same year. Phillip contributes not only his violin skills but also fosters a culture of musical excellence within the ensemble, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Alongside his wife and two daughters, Phillip has created a familial symphony within the MTSO, enriching the orchestra both musically and emotionally.
In 2010, Phillip founded the Macquarie Towns Training Orchestra (MTTO), providing a nurturing environment for young musicians in the community. Serving as its conductor, Phillip dedicated his guidance to developing raw talent into refined artistry. During a transitional period, MTSO found themselves without a conductor. Phillip had honed his skills so much that he was able to step in and conduct until we found someone to conduct permanently. Under his mentorship, the MTTO flourished and eventually merged with the main orchestra, a testament to Phillip's exceptional leadership and the growth of its members.
Phillip's versatility extends beyond the conductor's podium. He seamlessly transitions between playing the violin and viola in MTSO and singing with various groups around the Hawkesbury area, including MTSO.
